SOUTH FAYETTE – Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) today announced he secured $1.03 million in Local Share Account grants from the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) for four projects in the 46th Legislative District.
Act 71 of 2004 provides for the distribution of LSA gaming revenues through the CFA to support projects of public interest within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
“I’m pleased my advocacy for these projects paid off,” Ortitay said. “Each will address a crucial need. The improvements to our area parks, in particular, will enhance the community’s offerings for many residents.”
Municipalities receiving funds are:
• Chartiers Township – $375,000 to install a new section of pressure sewer in the Arden Mines community.
• Houston Borough – $136,900 to replace and update traffic signals at the intersections of Main and Pike streets and Pike Street and Western Avenue.
• McDonald Borough – $185,000 for improvements to Heritage Park, including ADA-compliant bathrooms, a band shell, associated utility connections and site preparations.
• Mount Pleasant Township – $336,787 to update a variety of buildings and equipment at four community parks.
The 46th Legislative District includes South Fayette Township and McDonald and Oakdale boroughs in Allegheny County. It also encompasses Cecil, Chartiers, Mt. Pleasant and North Strabane (Districts 6,7,8 and 9) townships and Canonsburg, Houston and McDonald boroughs in Washington County.
