Grants Awarded for South Fayette Park Projects, Ortitay Says
BRIDGEVILLE – Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) today announced that more than $300,000 in Community Conservation Partnerships Program (C2P2) grants were awarded for park projects in South Fayette Township.
The funding comes from the Community Parks and Partnership program, which assists communities with the planning and development of public parks, recreation, conservation areas and facilities.
“Having a number of recreational opportunities available is vital for a well-rounded community,” Ortitay said. “These grants will help ensure residents of all ages have places to relax and play close to home. I look forward to visiting these locations after the projects are completed.”
Allegheny Land Trust was awarded $35,000 to prepare a master site development plan for the 43.2-acre Meyer Farm in South Fayette Township.
South Fayette Township received $300,000 to rehabilitate Fairview Park and Boys’ Home Park. The work at Fairview Park will include construction of a pedestrian walkway, installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing, landscaping and related site improvements. Boys’ Home Park improvements will include construction of a pedestrian walkway and parking area, installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing, landscaping and related site improvements.
The 46th Legislative District includes Collier and South Fayette townships and Bridgeville, Heidelberg, McDonald and Oakdale boroughs in Allegheny County. It also encompasses Canton, Cecil, Mt. Pleasant, Robinson and Smith townships and Burgettstown, McDonald and Midway boroughs in Washington County.
