Ortitay to Host Identity Theft Prevention Shredding Event
BRIDGEVILLE – As a free service to the community, Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) will be hosting a shredding event in South Fayette Township to give residents of the 46th Legislative District a chance to safeguard themselves against identity theft by having their personal documents securely destroyed.
The event will be held on Saturday, June 16, 9-11 a.m., at the Original Farmers Market,
151 Parks Road, McDonald.
“Taking all available steps to guard personal information from identity theft should be a priority,” Ortitay said. “One of the best ways to do this is to shred documents containing personal information. I’m pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to the community, free of charge.”
Acceptable items include all paper documents. No more than three grocery bags or small boxes per household are permitted, and no businesses, please. No phonebooks, newspapers or bound books can be accepted. Information also will be provided about consumer protection and identity theft.
For more information, contact Ortitay’s office at (412) 221-5110.
The 46th Legislative District includes Collier and South Fayette townships and Bridgeville, Heidelberg, McDonald and Oakdale boroughs in Allegheny County. It also encompasses Canton, Cecil, Mt. Pleasant, Robinson and Smith townships and Burgettstown, McDonald and Midway boroughs in Washington County.
