WEDnetPA Grants Awarded in 46th District, Ortitay Says
HARRISBURG —Rep. Jason Ortitay (R-Washington/Allegheny) today announced almost $47,000 in Workforce and Economic Development Network of Pennsylvania (WEDnetPA) grants were awarded to three companies in the 46th Legislative District.

“Businesses can only be successful when their employees are properly trained to do their jobs,” Ortitay said. “This grant funding will help three local business succeed and thrive. I’m pleased state budget funding can be allocated to make the state more business friendly and signal Pennsylvanians can compete in the 21st century.”

The grants were awarded to Universal Electric Corporation, Accutrex Products Inc. and Ferror Corporation to provide training to their employees. WEDnetPA is a network of 26 community colleges, Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) universities and other partners that provide expert support to businesses to help assess training needs, develop training plans and apply for funding. Grants are provided through the PA First Fund.

The 46th Legislative District includes Collier and South Fayette townships and Bridgeville, Heidelberg, McDonald and Oakdale boroughs in Allegheny County. It also encompasses Canton, Cecil, Mt. Pleasant, Robinson and Smith townships and Burgettstown, McDonald and Midway boroughs in Washington County.
